Project
EE showed off the capabilities of its Full Fibre Home Broadband by successfully landing a plane over the network to demonstrate its power and reliability.
The live stunt saw the telecoms provider take over the dining room of a family home, transforming it into a makeshift air traffic control centre capable of relaying information between the plane and Cambridge Airport to see it land safely. Developed by Saatchi & Saatchi London, the campaign was produced by Academy Award-winning director, Tom Hooper.
Mission
We have a remote director in London who needs to see the live cameras in the heli, plane, and on the airfield…all in real time? Limitless were invited by producers Smuggler to make this happen, enabling the live stunt to be directed in real time. With our technology, we connected 7 Arri cinema cameras, over 4/5G, with one rigged in a helicopter, and gave the production team eyes on every shot from over 70 miles away.
Impact
Limitless brought an agile broadcast solution to the cinema and commercial industry. We enabled “eyes on” live cameras by using the 4G network to remotely stream all live cameras from Cambridge, to our MCR and out to the London-based director - seamlessly. “We stepped out of our comfort zone on this one and we’re so glad we had Limitless to help us.” - Smuggler
