Project
Nestled in the historic courtyard of Somerset House, London, the UEFA Champions Tournament 2024 roared into action across the UEFA Champions League Festival held in the heart of London. The high tempo event saw four matches played back to back with premium players from across the sport. Viewers were treated to world class coverage presented by legendary broadcaster Matt Smith, with commentators James Fielden and Aaron Maclean, and Danny Jamieson reporting pitchside on the action with players, coaches and fans. The program was distributed from the Limitless remote hub via BT Tower to 30 UEFA world feed takers and gathered 300k views on UEFA's Youtube channel.
Mission
Deliver quality world feed coverage with full presentation of the UEFA Ultimate Champions Tournament for over 30 world feed takers, and stream to UEFA's Youtube channel.
Challenge
To achieve high end and creative coverage inkeeping with UEFA's brand values with minimal footprint and infrastructure onsite where access is extremely limited.
It was our pleasure to provide UEFA with innovative, resilient and nimble remote production for the UEFA Champions Tournament 2024. We delivered the four games for UEFA with 5 camera coverage includin super slow and box lenses and off-tube commentary. With UEFA’s go ahead we took the opportunity to test creative ideas as part of our full remote production approach. These included ref mic and live links with players walking around with roaming smartphones so we could capture an in the midst of the action vibe among the players. The players rose to the challenge, chatting with players and playing up to the camera. We featured off the cuff interviews live picture in picture alongside the main coverage.
Our nimble onsite footprint enabled us to get up and running quickly with plenty of time for rehearsals and checks with the gallery. Our innovative production hub based in Surrey housed the editorial and technical teams and the whole event spun and down quickly for Gatorade the following day.
Impact
UEFA were delighted with the results and excited to work in a new way where there are no limits to what can be achieved.
